Family sessions hold such a special place in my heart — especially when multiple generations come together. The Roe family’s extended session in Sheboygan was the perfect mix of love, laughter, and those little in-between moments that make family photography so meaningful.
A Gorgeous Fall Setting
Sheboygan showed off with the most stunning fall backdrop. The golden grasses swayed in the breeze, vibrant red trees popped in the distance, and the soft, overcast skies gave us that dreamy, even light every photographer loves. It was the kind of setting that made every hug, smile, and laugh feel even more magical.
Capturing Every Generation
We began with full family portraits — grandparents at the center, surrounded by their children and grandchildren. These group photos are always some of my favorites because they highlight the legacy of love that continues to grow through each generation. You could feel the pride in the grandparents’ smiles and the joy in the kids’ playful energy.
From there, we broke into smaller groupings. Grandparents with grandkids, siblings together, and each individual family had their time to shine. I always love weaving in both posed portraits and natural interactions so that families walk away with a collection of images that feel timeless but also true-to-life.
The Magic of Candid Moments
While the formal portraits were beautiful, it was the candid moments that made this session extra special. The cousins played together, held hands in a circle, and laughed until their cheeks hurt. Grandparents joined in for playful tickles and giggles, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
